Oh my aching body

This weekend’s major goal: prepare the basement for the slab. We will be dry soon, and it hasn’t been cold, so it’s time for some concrete action.

The existing sand was a little low, though. Two inches too low. What does that mean? (32 feet * 33 feet * 144 inches per square foot * 2 inches extra concrete / (number of inches in a cubic yard) ) * dollars per cubic yard of concrete ~= $700.

Hmm. Shovel 6.5 yards of sand, or pay, with money not found in the budget. Ouch. I seem to have lost that money tree.
