Finally got the decorations on the tree

In order to get the kids to speak up, some teachers have been encouraging a competition between the boys and the girls, to see who can sing the loudest. This feeds right in to Rab’s natural competitive nature, with predictable results. At the school program, he was Definitely the loudest. He did a good job, though; he knew all the words to all of his songs, (A pretty impressive feat for a five-year-old) and you certainly can’t fault him for not keeping his notes absolutely true when he was yelling at the top of his lungs.
Exciting progress

This evening while preparing dinner, things got a little hot… Well, ok, some of it was downright burned. The smoke detector went off. This obviously is not as rare an occurance as it should be, because Nessa raced up the stairs from where she was playing downstairs, got up in her chair at the dinner table, and looked at us expectantly. (and cutely) Sigh.
